Two Killed in Maricopa County Accident on State Route 87

Maricopa County, Arizona (September 3, 2023) – A head-on collision left both drivers dead and two passengers with major injuries on Friday night in Maricopa County, according to a report by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident took place on State Route 87 near Sheep’s Crossing shortly before 11:30 p.m. on September 1.

It’s unclear what caused the head-on collision. One of the cars caught fire following the crash.

The two drivers were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Each car had one passenger each. The passengers were transported with critical injuries.

Authorities are working to determine the cause of the accident.
