William Elliot Killed in Mentone Bicycle Accident at Mills Creek Road and Highway 38 

Mentone, California (August 1, 2023) – The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office has identified William Bruce Elliot, 56, of Redlands as the man killed in a car accident last Saturday morning in Mentone.

The deadly collision occurred at Mills Creek Road and Highway 38 a while after 9:30 a.m. on July 29.

Authorities said Elliot was cycling his bicycle in the area when he was struck by a vehicle for unknown reasons.

Responding emergency crews rushed Elliot to Loma Linda University, where he was declared dead at 10:21 a.m.

Police did not release information concerning the involved driver.

The incident remains under investigation.
