Douglas County, Oregon (March 11, 2023) – A 67-year-old man was killed in a head-on collision in Douglas County on Thursday afternoon.
The fatal wreck happened on Highway 42 near milepost 68 at around 3:30 p.m., according to Oregon State Police.
67-year-old Ronald Butler was traveling eastbound in his Nissan pickup truck when, for unknown reasons, he collided head-on with a semi-truck operated by 59-year-old Scott Hayes, of Monroe.
Butler was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
Hayes was uninjured.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
