Police Officer Seriously Injured in Phoenix Car Accident at 4th and Oak Streets

Phoenix, Arizona (March 16, 2023) – A police officer was seriously injured in a car crash that happened early Wednesday morning in Phoenix.
The accident was reported at around 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of 40th and Oak streets.
A police patrol vehicle and another car were involved in the crash. According to the authorities, the second car ran a red light at the intersection and crashed into the patrol car.
The officer was trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated by the Phoenix Fire Department crew.
The officer sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
The other driver and two others occupants fled the scene on foot but were located and detained.
Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be factors in the crash.
