Rider Killed in Bakersfield Motorcycle Accident on Panama Road

Bakersfield, California (August 28, 2023) – A person on a motorcycle was killed when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle on Sunday afternoon in Bakersfield, the authorities said.

The fatal collision occurred shortly after 1 p.m. on Sunday, August 27, in the area of Panama Road, just east of Fairfax Road.

According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, a GMC truck was heading westbound on Panama Road when the driver slowed down due to another crash ahead.

A Harley Davidson motorcycle rider failed to slow down in time and slammed into the back of the truck.

The impact of the crash ejected the rider from the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, who was not immediately identified, died at the site of the crash.

The accident is under investigation.
