Man Struck, Killed by DUI Driver on Market Street in Long Beach; David Grace Arrested
Long Beach, California (January 1, 2022) – A man died after being struck by a car as he pushed a disabled vehicle on a freeway in Long Beach on Saturday evening.
The accident happened at around 5:22 p.m. in the 300 block of Market Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 62-year-old man and his 19-year-old daughter were pushing a disabled 1991 Dodge van when he was struck by a speeding 2013 Lexus driven by David Grace, 33, of Los Angeles.
The van then struck an unoccupied, parked Nissan truck.
The unidentified man was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to the hospital, where he died.
The daughter was unhurt.
David was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and drunk driving, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
