Majid Al Juhaishi and Tessa Jeffrey Killed in Collision at 28th and Thuderbird in Phoenix

Phoenix, Arizona (July 4, 2023) – 54-year-old Majid Al Juhaishi, and his passenger, 41-year-old Tessa Jeffrey, were killed in a collision that happened on Monday night in Phoenix.
The accident was reported at around 11 p.m. at the intersection of 28th Avenue and Thunderbird Road near Interstate 17.
A Chevrolet Camaro was traveling westbound on Thunderbird Road when the driver ran the red light and collided with a Chevrolet Traverse that was traveling southbound on the access road.
The Traverse then crashed into a Subaru that had stopped at a red light.
Authorities say the Camaro caught fire after the collision and a passenger, Esteban Espinoza-Lopez, 21, was trapped inside.
Emergency personnel responded to the crash and rescued Espinoza-Lopez from the burning car before rushing him to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
A 22-year-old man was driving the Camaro and was able to get out of the car before it burst into flames.
Juhaishi was driving the Traverse and was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Jeffrey was a passenger in the Traverse and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man and a woman in the Subaru sustained minor injuries and were treated at released from the hospital.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
