Hesperia, CA – One person was injured following a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 15 in Hesperia Friday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred on the northbound Interstate 15 Freeway just north of Main Street at approximately 12:07 p.m. on March 20, 2026.
Authorities reported that a gray Nissan Altima and a black motorcycle were involved in the crash. The Nissan sustained significant rear-end damage to its trunk area, while the motorcycle suffered major damage, including its front tire being completely snapped off and separated from the bike.
The motorcyclist was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital with complaints of chest pain. The driver of the Nissan was not injured. No arrests were reported in connection with the incident.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and worked to clear the wreckage. By about 1:00 p.m., the motorcycle had been removed and the Nissan was moved to the right shoulder, allowing authorities to reopen all lanes.
The crash caused significant traffic delays, blocking the No. 1 lane and backing up traffic along the northbound 15 Freeway through Hesperia and into the Cajon Pass, with congestion reaching as far as Oak Hill Road.
The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol’s Victorville station.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, motorcycle crashes continue to be a significant safety concern in California. In recent data, the state recorded over 500 motorcyclist fatalities annually, with thousands more injured. The California Highway Patrol also reports that San Bernardino County consistently ranks among the counties with high numbers of injury crashes due to its busy highway system, including major corridors like Interstate 15.
