Esmeralda Rangel and Ericka Gonzalez Identified as Women Killed in Crash at 100th Street E in Palmdale

Esmeralda Rangel and Ericka Gonzalez Killed in Palmdale Car Accident at 100th Street E and E Avenue R 

Palmdale, California (January 7, 2023) – Two women killed in a two-vehicle accident on Thursday afternoon have been identified as 26- year-old Ericka Gonzalez of Los Angeles and 23-year-old Esmeralda Rangel of Little Rock.

According to a California Highway Patrol report, the collision occurred a while before 2:41 p.m. on January 5, at 100th Street E and E Avenue R.

Per the dispatch, a white GMC pickup struck the side of a  red Hyundai Venue compact SUV.

Firefighters and medics rushed to the scene and confirmed Ericka and Esmeralda, all Hyundai occupants dead at the accident scene.

Authorities arrested the pickup driver after performing a field sobriety test on him.

An investigation is underway.
