David Weaverling Killed in Lincoln County Head-On Crash on Highway 20 near Milepost 3

Lincoln County, Oregon (April 19, 2023) – David Eugene Beal Weaverling, 70, of Waldport, was killed in a head-on collision that occurred in Lincoln County on Monday morning.

According to the Oregon State Police, the fatal accident happened around 9:59 a.m. on Highway 20 near Milepost 3.

Weaverling was driving a white Toyota RAV4 heading east on Highway 20 when, for unknown reasons, he drifted into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a grey Toyota Tacoma.

Weaverling was killed in the crash, OSP said.

The Tacoma driver, 29-year-old Summer Rose Lovell of Wilsonville, was taken to the hospital with severe injuries.

The accident resulted in the closure of the highway for almost five hours.

More details about the crash were not available.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
