1 Injured in San Diego Bicycle Accident on Via De La Valle

San Diego, California (March 26, 2023) – A bicyclist was seriously injured in a collision that happened on Friday night in Del Mar heights

The San Diego Police Department says the fatal crash happened in the second westbound lane in the 2200 block of Via De La Valle around 11:55 p.m. on March 24.

A 43-year-old man was riding a Cervelo ZHT bike westbound on the highway and was struck by a red 2014 Ford MPV driven by a 62-year-old man.

The bicyclist sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

More details about the accident were not released.

The SDPD’s Traffic Division is investigating the cause of the accident.
