Kingsburg, California (December 7, 2022) – Authorities have identified 60-year-old Arturo Godinez of Kingsburg as the male driver killed in a train accident in August.

According to the Fresno County Coroner’s Office, the accident occurred around 7:00 p.m. on August 18th, on Sierra and Simpson streets, near Highway 99.

Authorities said Godinez was riding a big rig when he crashed into a southbound train on the tracks. Following the accident, the truck burst into flames and exploded.

Emergency crews and medics rushed to the scene and declared Godinez dead in the crash.

Police closed several roads to give way to a clearing operation.

Further details regarding this incident were not released.

An investigation is underway.
