Alexa-Xiomara Felix-Reyes Killed in Thermal Truck Accident on 81st Avenue

Thermal, California (January 17, 2023) – The California Highway Patrol have identified 26-year-old Alexa-Xiomara Felix-Reyes as one of the five individuals killed in a deadly semi-truck collision on Saturday evening in Thermal, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

The collision occurred on 81st Avenue near State Route 86 a while before 5:15 p.m. on January 14.

Police said a Volkswagen Jetta was traveling east on 81st Avenue when it drove through the intersection of SR 86 into the path of a big rig. The southbound semi-truck then hit the Volkswagen on its left side.

Alexa-Xiomara Felix-Reyes, the Volkswagen driver, died in the crash. All five individuals riding in the Volkswagen suffered fatal injuries following the accident.
