6 Injured in Murrieta Car Accident on Interstate 215 near Linnel Lane

Murrieta, California (May 1, 2023) – Six people were injured in a suspected DUI car crash early Monday morning in Murrieta.
The California Highway Patrol says the accident was reported at around 3:15 a.m. on Interstate 215 near Linnel Lane.
Isaiah F. Orona, 26, of Menifee, was driving a 2020 Dodge Charger northbound on I-215 when he made an unsafe turning movement and crashed into a concrete center divider.
The Dodge then bounced back into the lanes and collided with a 2004 Hyundai.
The Dodge then veered into opposite lanes and collided with a 2017 Kia Sportage carrying a family of four.
Emergency crews responded to the crash and found a 6-year-old boy and his father, suffering severe injuries.
CHP says Orona suffered major injuries in the crash.
The other three parties sustained minor injuries.
All victims were rushed to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, except the driver of the Hyundai who declined transport to the hospital.
Orona was found to have been driving under the influence and was placed under arrest at the hospital.
More details about the crash were not provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
