Woman on Fentanyl Causes Head-On Collision at Parsons Ave. and Gerard Ave. in Merced

Merced, California (October 1, 2022) – Three people were hospitalized after being injured in a suspected DUI crash in Merced on Friday morning.
The California Highway Patrol says the accident happened at around 10 a.m. in the area of Parsons and Gerard avenues.
A woman suspected to be under the influence of fentanyl reportedly veered into the opposite lane of traffic for an unknown reason and collided head-on with another vehicle.
The officers who arrived at the scene found an adult and two juveniles suffering from injuries inside a car.
The three were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
24-year-old Patricia Garrett was taken to the hospital for treatment before being arrested on suspicion of DUI causing injury and other charges.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
