2 Killed, 1 Injured in Fresno Car Accident on Highway 33 near Shaw Avenue

Fresno, California (October 23, 2022) – Two people were killed in a head-on collision that happened on Friday night in Fresno.

Los Banos-area California Highway Patrol says the fatal crash happened on Highway 33 near Shaw Avenue at around 11:04 p.m. on October 21.

A woman was driving a car northbound on the highway when she drifted into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a vehicle towing a two-axle flatbed trailer loaded with fertilizer.

The woman and his male passenger were killed in the crash.

The names of the victims were not released pending notification of the next of kin.

19-year-old Jimmy Saravia, of Mendota, was driving the second vehicle and was hospitalized with minor injuries.

Drugs and alcohol were ruled out as factors in the crash.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
