Vinsnow2 Dead, 2 Hospitalized after La Pine Car Accident on Highway 97
La Pine, Oregon (April 27, 2023) – Two people were killed in a head-on collision on Wednesday afternoon in La Pine.
The accident happened on Highway 97 near Jack Pine Loop at around 1 p.m., according to the Oregon State Police.
A Ford Explorer was making a turn onto Jack Pine Loop when a Dodge pickup sideswiped it.
The pickup then entered the highway and collided head-on with a U-Haul van.
The Dodge teen male driver, and 35-year-old Jeffery Ferris of Fairview, were killed in the crash.
Two passengers sustained injuries and were taken to St. Charles Hospital for treatment.
More details about the crash were not provided.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
