4 Hospitalized after Fresno Car Accident on Highway 180 near Abby Street

Fresno, California (January 1, 2023) – Four people were injured in a Saturday night crash involving a Fresno Police Department patrol vehicle.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the collision at State Route 180, east of Abby Street at around 8:20 p.m. on December 30.
The patrol car with two officers inside and a Toyota Camry were involved in the crash.
25-year-old Alexis Flores Valdeolivar, of Fresno, was driving a Toyota Camry and had just entered the eastbound lanes of Highway 180 from Abby Street when he saw the patrol car approaching.
The Camry driver panicked, overcorrected and collided with the Camry. The Camry then crashed into the concrete median while the patrol car came to rest in the center median.
The two officers were hospitalized with minor-to-moderate injuries.
Valdeolivar and his passenger were also taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
