Woman Dead, Several People Injured in Fresno County Accident at Jefferson Avenue and Clovis Avenue

Fresno County, California (December 22, 2022) – A woman was killed and seven other people were injured in a two-vehicle collision on Wednesday morning in Fresno County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident was reported at around 10:00 a.m. in the area of Jefferson Avenue and Clovis Avenue.

A Chevy Malibu was traveling southbound on Clovis Avenue when a Mercedes Benz with three adults and four children pulled directly in front of it.

The Malibu crashed into the right side of the Mercedes.

A woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two children suffered critical injuries, and the other two had major injuries.

The Fresno County Fire Department responded to the scene and freed two adults who were trapped in the Mercedes.

CHP said all parties suffered major injuries, including the driver of the Malibu.

Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be factors in the crash, but the Mercedes Benz driver was at fault, and the car was overloaded.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
