P.MarkShayani1 Killed in Car Accident at Rancho Santa Fe Road and La Colusa Drive in San Marcos
San Marcos, California (February 24, 2023) – At least one person was killed in a two-vehicle collision that happened in San Marcos on Thursday morning.
The fatal crash was reported at around 7 a.m. at the intersection of Rancho Santa Fe Road and La Colusa Drive in San Marcos.
The San Diego Sheriff’s Department says a 2016 Jeep Cherokee was heading northbound on Rancho Santa Fe Road when the driver lost control and drifted into the southbound lanes where it collided with a 2008 Lincoln MKZ.
The impact of the collision caused the SUV to roll over onto its side and catch fire.
The driver of the Lincoln had to be extricated from the vehicle before being transported to the hospital where he later died.
The driver of the Jeep was hospitalized with minor injuries.
There were no passengers in the vehicles.
