P.MarkShayani1 Killed in Car Accident on 45th Street near Atlantic Avenue in Long Beach
Long Beach, California (April 8, 2023) – One person was killed in a car crash that happened near Bixby Knolls in Long Beach on Friday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 3:13 p.m. in the 700 block of 45th Street near Atlantic Avenue.
A suspected DUI driver is reported to have been standing outside his parked vehicle in the area when he was struck by a car driven by 42-year-old Jose Trujillo of Long Beach.
A man was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to the hospital where he died.
Trujillo fled the scene after the accident but was later located and arrested.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
