P.MarkShayani1 Killed, 2 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 43 near Flint Avenue in Hanford
Hanford, California (October 19, 2022) – One person was killed in a car accident that left two other people in Hanford on Monday morning.
The California Highway Patrol says the accident happened on Highway 43 near Flint Avenue.
Uliezer De Jesus, 24, of Madera, was driving a Volkswagen Jetta southbound on Highway 43 when he drifted into the opposite lane.
A northbound Hyundai driven by Oscar Escalera, 23, of Hanford, swerved to the shoulder to avoid colliding with the Volkswagen.
CHP says the Volkswagen collided head-on with a northbound Chevrolet driven by Jose Santos Corona, 18, of Hanford.
The impact of the collision sent the Volkswagen into the path of a southbound Volkswagen Passat driven by a 49-year-old from Dublin and the two vehicles collided.
The driver of the Passat was taken to the hospital where he died while receiving treatment.
De Jesus and a passenger in his vehicle, 19-year-old Abisua Princiliano, of Madera, sustained minor injuries.
De Jesus was arrested for driving without a license and was booked into the Kings County Jail.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
