1 Killed and 2 Injured in Highway 43 Car Accident near Munzer Road in Bakersfield
Bakersfield, California (August 12, 2021) – A woman was killed in a car crash that left two others injured in Bakersfield on Tuesday morning.
The deadly collision happened on Highway 43 south of Munzer Road at about 5:05 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Juvencio Palma, of Taft, was driving a car northbound on Highway 43 when she drifted into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle driven by Maria Mondragon, of Shafter.
Woman, 48, Killed in Bakersfield Car Accident on Highway 43
A 48-year-old Shafter woman riding in Mondragon’s car was killed in the accident.
Mondragon suffered minor injuries and was transported to Kern Medical for treatment.
Palma suffered minor injuries and sought own medical aid.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
