Woman Killed in Galt Car Crash on Highway 99 near Mingo Road, Estevan Mora Arrested
Sacramento, California (July 19, 2021) – A 65-year-old woman was killed in a car crash involving a suspected DUI driver near Galt on Sunday, July 18.
The deadly collision happened on Highway 99 near Mingo Road at about 5:14 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
25-year-old Estevan Mora was driving a Ford Mustang northbound on Highway 99 when he made an unsafe turn and struck a center divider, causing the metal debris and plastic from the barriers to fall into the northbound lanes.
A short time later, a northbound Toyota Corolla driven by a 63-year-old Ione woman struck the debris and pulled over on the shoulder. A 65-year-old Galt woman driving a Chevy Malibu is reported to have struck the debris and pulled over at the shoulder behind the Chevy Malibu.

The CHP said a 43-year-old man driving a Toyota Camry attempted to swerve to avoid crashing into the debris but ended up hitting the 65-year-old woman who had exited the Chevy to inspect the damage to her vehicle. The impact of the crash tossed the woman into a nearby field.
The unidentified woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
According to the report, Mora displayed symptoms of intoxication and was arrested on suspicion of DUI. He was booked into the Sacramento County Jail.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
