Vardges Aramovich Arakelian Killed in Highway 99 Car Crash near Rosedale Highway in Bakersfield
Bakersfield, California (July 23, 2021) – 72-year-old Vardges Aramovich Arakelian, of Van Nuys, has been identified by the Kern County Coroner as the man who was killed in a car crash in Bakersfield last week Monday.
The fatal car crash was reported at about 6:21 p.m. July 12, on southbound Highway 99, near Rosedale Highway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A Dodge is reported to have failed to slow down for traffic at a construction zone on the highway and rear-ended a Honda. The impact of the collision caused the Honda to crash into the rear of a Toyota which crashed into a Ford.
All vehicles came to rest blocking the construction bypass lane.

Arakelian was driving the Dodge and was killed in the accident.
The driver of the Honda was transported to Kern Medical for treatment of minor injuries.
The other drivers were unhurt.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the accident.
