Driver Killed in San Jose Car Crash on Snell Avenue near Capitol Expressway
San Jose, California (June 11, 2021) – One person was killed in a car crash involving a street racing driver in South San Jose on Thursday night, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The deadly collision happened at about 11 p.m. June 10, in the area of Snell Avenue between The Woods Drive and Rosenbaum Avenue, near the Capitol Expressway.
The CHP established that a 1998 Honda Accord and a 2001 Lexus GS30 were racing northbound on Snell Avenue when both vehicles left the roadway for unknown reasons and crashed into two separate trees.
The driver of the Honda Accord was pronounced dead at the scene. The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office did not disclose the identity of the deceased pending notification of his next of kin.

The Lexus driver remained at the scene of the accident.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
