Vacaville, California (August 18, 2021) – 20-year-old Shadijah Utsey has been identified by the Solano County Coroner as the woman who was killed in a car crash in Vacaville last week Thursday.

According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near the intersection of eastbound Interstate 80 and I-505 Freeway at about 4:54 a.m. August 12.

Utsey was driving a Toyota Camry when she struck a center divider before returning to the roadway where it struck a Hyundai Ioniq driven by 71-year-old Harold Sawyer Jr., of Albany.

A Honda Civic driven by Angel Zavala-Alvarez, 42, of Antioch; a GMC Sierra driven by Humberto Hernandez, 34, of San Pablo; and a Volkswagen driven by Nicholas Hanson, 33, of Rohnert Park, also struck the Toyota.

Utsey was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

Sawyer and Hanson sustained minor injuries in the accident and were transported to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center for treatment.

Hernandez and Zavala-Alvarez were unhurt.
