Richard Wilkin Killed in Head-On Collision at De Wolf and Floral Avenues in Fresno County
Fresno County, California (June 8, 2022) – Richard Wilkin, 71, of Selma, has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office as the man who was killed in a head-on collision in Fresno County on Tuesday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at around 8 p.m. at De Wolf and Floral Avenues near Selma.
Wilkin was driving a Chevy Suburban westbound on Floral Avenue when, for unknown reasons, he turned his car directly in front of an oncoming Chevy Silverado.
Wilkin was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Silverado caught fire after the collision and two people were trapped inside.
Two men were taken to a hospital in Fresno with major injuries.
It’s unclear whether alcohol and/or drugs played a role in the crash.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
