Jessy Lee Woodard and Rhonda Santen Injured in Cotton Springs Car Crash on Highway 4 near Beatrice Drive
Cottage Springs, California (August 4, 2021) – Three people including a 3-year-old passenger were hospitalized after being injured in a head-on collision near Cottage Springs on Monday afternoon.
The crash happened on Highway 4 east of Beatrice Drive around 1:30 p.m. August 2, according to the California Highway Patrol.
23-year-old Jessy Lee Woodard was driving a 2003 Subaru Outback with a 3-year-old passenger eastbound on Highway 4 when she allowed the vehicle to cross into the opposite lanes and collided head-on with a 2020 Subaru Forester traveling westbound and driven by 65-year-old Rhonda Santen, of Pinole.
Both drivers had to be extricated from the vehicle before being transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Woodard, a resident of Bear Valley, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to UC Davis Medical Center.
Santen and the juvenile passenger in the Outback were hospitalized with major injuries.
The CHP said all the occupants were wearing seatbelts.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
