Randolph Earl Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Highway 101 near Tassajara Creek Road in Santa Margarita
San Luis Obispo, California (July 13, 2021) – A man was killed in a motorcycle accident in Santa Margarita on Monday night, July 12.
The deadly collision happened in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 near Tassajara Creek Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A preliminary investigation indicated that 67-year-old Randolph Earl was riding a Harley Davidson northbound on Highway 101 approaching Tassajara Creek Road when the driver of a southbound Jeep Wrangler made a left-hand turn directly in front of the motorcycle.

The motorcycle crashed into the passenger side of the Jeep, ejecting the rider.
Earl was rushed to an area hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
The CHP did not disclose the condition of the Jeep driver, identified only as a 45-year-old Sacramento resident.
Impairment was ruled out as a factor in the crash.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
