Police Officer Injured in Collision at Fanucci Way and Zachery Avenue in Shafter
Kern County, California (February 8, 2022) – A Shafter police officer was injured in a Tuesday morning car crash near the Target Distribution Center in Shafter.
The collision occurred at around 6:15 a.m. at Fanucci Way and Zachery Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The officer was attempting to pass a speeding vehicle on southbound Zachery Avenue when a vehicle turned left in front of the officer and the crash occurred.

The officer was injured in the accident and was taken to Kern Medical for a complaint of pain.
The driver of the second car was also transported to Kern Medical for evaluation.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
