Man Killed in Julian Motorcycle Crash on Highway 79 near KQ Ranch Road
East County, California (August 7, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision that occurred in the Julian area of San Diego on Friday afternoon, August 6.
The 1:30 p.m. motorcycle accident occurred on State Route 79 near KQ Ranch Road.
The California Highway Patrol said a 33-year-old Oceanside man was riding a 2008 Harley Davidson Dyna Glide motorcycle northbound on SR 79 when he drifted into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with an oncoming 2016 Volkswagen Jetta.

The unidentified motorcyclist died at the scene of the accident.
The impact of the crash caused the motorcycle to slide across the roadway where it was struck by a Toyota Land Cruiser driven by a 62-year-old Arizona woman.
A northbound 2016 Harley-Davidson struck debris, ejecting the 57-year-old Oceanside man riding the motorcycle.
The driver of the Volkswagen sustained minor injuries and was transported to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for treatment.
The CHP said the other involved parties did not sustain injuries in the crash.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
