Nicolas Peterson Killed, Jonathan Deal Injured in Bakersfield Motorcycle Accident at Coffee Rd and Hageman Rd
Bakersfield, California (July 2, 2021) – 13-year-old Nicolas Peterson has been identified as the boy who died when the motorcycle they were riding together with his stepfather was struck by a car in Bakersfield earlier this year.
The fatal motorcycle happened at the intersection of Coffee and Hageman roads at about 12:59 p.m. January 10, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Peterson and his stepfather Jonathan Deal were riding a motorcycle from church when they were struck by an SUV at the intersection.
The Bakersfield Police Department responded to the incident and pronounced Peterson dead at the scene.
Cristina Moreno-Gonzalez Arrested in Connection with Deadly Bakersfield Motorcycle Accident
Deal was transported to the hospital where he spent time in a medically-induced coma.
The SUV driver, 37-year-old Cristina Moreno-Gonzalez, made a left turn in front of the westbound motorcycle, and the two vehicles collided.
The suspect fled the scene but was arrested on Friday morning, July 2, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office said. Moreno-Gonzalez was taken into custody for undisclosed charges.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the accident.
