Man Killed in Lompoc Motorcycle Crash on Purisima Road at Mission Gate Road
Lompoc, California (June 23, 2021) – A 26-year-old Lompoc man was killed in a motorcycle accident near La Purisima Mission Tuesday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol said.
The deadly crash happened shortly after 2:45 p.m. June 22, in the 2200 block of Purisima Road, near the entrance to La Purisima Mission.
The man was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound on Purisima Road when he collided with a 2017 Volkswagen that was making a left turn from northbound Mission Gate Road onto westbound Purisima Road.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Santa Barbara County firefighters.
The driver of the car, 67-year-old Lompoc resident Lawrence Li, was uninjured.
The collision blocked both lanes of Purisima Road between Mission Gate Road and Highway 246.
The CHP ruled out drugs and alcohol as factors in the crash.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
