Man Dies in Fresno Motorcycle Accident on Highway 99 near Shaw Avenue
Fresno, California (September 19, 2022) – A 29-year-old man from Ceres died in a motorcycle accident on Friday night in Fresno.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident happened at around 7:30 p.m. on Highway 99 just north of Shaw Avenue.
The rider was traveling southbound on Highway 99 when he failed to see an obstruction in the roadway and ran over it, causing the motorcycle to crash.
The motorcyclist was ejected and landed in the right lane where he was hit by a Toyota Corolla driven by 28-year-old Fresno woman.
CHP said the Ceres man suffered severe injuries and was taken to Community Reginal Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
At this time, it’s unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
