Man Dies in San Clemente Crash on Interstate 5 near El Camino Real

San Clemente, California ( September 7, 2021) – A 65-year-old motorcyclist from Kansas City in Missouri died Monday morning after being involved in a collision in San Clemente.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at around 10:14 a.m. on the northbound side of Interstate 5, just north of El Camino Real.
The man was riding a 2010 Harley-Davidson when for an unknown reason, he was struck by a 2008 Ford Explorer driven by a 35-year-old San Clemente man.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not disclosed.
A 2012 Honda Civic carrying two 27-year-old, a woman and a man from Austin, Texas, was also involved in the crash, the CHP said.
No injuries were reported in the crash.
Two northbound lanes were closed following the crash until nearly 2 p.m.
More details about the collision were not provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
