Fullerton, California (August 18, 2022) – A 46-year-old man died after he crashed into the back of a vehicle while riding a motorcycle in Fullerton on Tuesday morning.

Police say the deadly incident was reported at around 11:40 a.m. in the 2200 block of East Orangethorpe Avenue near the State Route 57 Freeway.

The man was riding a 2004 Honda motorcycle southbound on East Orangethorpe Avenue at high speed when he slammed into the rear passenger’s side of a 2022 Ford Maverick pickup truck.

The truck driver was making a turn into a parking lot when the crash occurred.

The motorcyclist suffered critical injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The name of the rider was not released pending notification of the next of kin.

The driver of Maverick remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

Alcohol and drugs did not appear to have played a role in the crash.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
