Miguel Angel Salas ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Lompoc Valley Crash on Purisima Road
Lompoc, California (June 24, 2021) – 26-year-old Miguel Angel Salas has been identified by the Santa Barbara County Coroner’s Office as the motorcyclist who was killed in a collision near Lompoc on Tuesday afternoon.
The fatal motorcycle accident happened at about 2:45 p.m. June 22, at Purisima Road and Mission Gate Road, near La Purisima Mission.
The California Highway Patrol said Salas was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Purisima when he was struck by a Volkswagen that was making a turn onto Purisima from Mission Gate Road.
Motorcyclist Killed in Crash near La Purisima Mission in Lompoc Identified
Salas, a resident of Lompoc, was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Volkswagen, identified only as a 67-year-old Lompoc man, was uninjured.
The CHP ruled out drugs and alcohol as factors in the crash.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
