Pilot Dies in Shafter Plane Crash near Minter Field Airport

Shafter, California (November 4, 2021) – A pilot was killed in a plane crash near Shafter in Kern County on Wednesday afternoon.
The fatal plane crash happened near Minter Field Airport at about 11:56 a.m. November 3, according to the Kern County Fire Department.
The plane is reported to have crashed in the area of North Driver Road and East Lerdo Highway for unknown reasons before catching fire.
The pilot, Max Allen Hanner, 62, was killed in the crash. He was the only occupant of the plane.
Federal Aviation and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the incident.
