Matias Rogers Killed in Sellers Avenue Car Crash in Brentwood, Contra Costa
Contra Costa, California (June 17, 2021) – Matias Rogers has been identified as the 16-year-old Brentwood boy who was killed in a car crash that left two other teenagers injured on Wednesday evening in Brentwood near Oakley.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 5:35 p.m. July 16, in the 4500 block of Sellers Avenue near Delta Road.
Rogers was driving a white 2015 Acura TLX sedan southbound on Sellers when he drifted across the solid double line into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with an oncoming 2003 Ford F-150 pickup truck.
Both vehicles sustained major damage in the accident.

Rogers was killed in the accident, according to the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office.
A 15-year-old boy who was riding in the Acura was critically injured in the accident and was flown to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek for treatment.
A 19-year-old Discovery Bay resident who was driving the pickup truck was also transported to John Muir Medical Center with serious injuries.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
