Mark Anderson ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Memorial Day Crash on Highway 101 in Los Alamos
Los Alamos, California (June 4, 2021) – A man who was killed in a motorcycle accident in Los Alamos, Santa Barbara County, on Memorial Day has been identified as Mark Anderson, 52, of Buellton.
At about 4 p.m. on May 31, Anderson was riding a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when a 2005 Honda Civic in front of him made a turn from southbound Highway 101 onto Bell Street, near Cat Canyon Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Anderson applied his brakes but was unable to avoid crashing into the Honda driven by a 21-year-old Santa Maria man.

Anderson was wearing a helmet and was ejected from the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Santa Barbara County Coroner’s Office.
The driver of the Honda was unhurt. The police ruled out intoxication on the part of the driver as a factor in the deadly crash.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
