Mario Rivera and Stephany Cartagena-Bronfield Killed in 110 Freeway Car Crash near Slauson Avenue in South Los Angeles
Los Angeles, California (August 3, 2021) – The Los Angeles Coroner’s Office has disclosed the identities of two people who were killed in a suspected DUI car crash on the 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles on Sunday morning, August 1.
The 4:40 a.m. crash happened on the southbound side of Harbor (110) Freeway near Slauson Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 2014 Hyundai Elantra driven by 43-year-old Mario Mazariegos Rivera is reported to have collided with a 2017 Buick Regal driven by 30-year-old Warnervee Walton.

Mario Rivera and his passenger, 26-year-old Stephany Cartagena-Bronfield, were killed in the accident. Both were residents of Los Angeles.
Walton was arrested on suspicion of DUI

The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
