Man Injured in San Diego Scooter Accident on Cypress Avenue near Park Boulevard
San Diego, California (June 30, 2021) – A 20-year-old man was seriously injured when the scooter he was riding crashed into an SUV in the North Park area of San Diego on Tuesday night, June 29.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Cypress Avenue near Park Boulevard, just east of state Route 163.
At about 10:55 p.m. Tuesday, a 62-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV when he collided with a 20-year-old man riding a motorized scooter southbound on Park Boulevard.

The scooter rider a fractured skull, a broken rib and contusions on both lungs, and was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
The SUV driver was unhurt. He remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
