Man Killed in Woodland Car Crash on 5 Freeway near Kentucky Avenue
Yolo County, California (August 16, 2021) – A man was killed in a car crash that left three other people injured in Woodland, Yolo County, on Sunday evening.
The deadly collision happened on Interstate 5 Freeway near Kentucky Avenue at about 7:27 p.m. August 15.
The California Highway Patrol said a 27-year-old woman was driving a Toyota Camry northbound on the 5 Freeway when she drifted across the center divider and collided head-on with a southbound Chevrolet Silverado 2500.
The Chevrolet pickup truck reportedly caught fire. The 68-year-old pickup truck driver and his two passengers, a 51-year-old woman and a 14-year-old boy, were trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by the firefighters.

The pickup truck driver died at the scene of the accident. The name of the man was not immediately disclosed.
The woman and the teenager were transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
The driver of the Toyota Camry sustained major injuries in the accident and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
