Bicyclist Struck, Injured by MTS Bus at Broadway and Park Boulevard in East Village, San Diego
San Diego, California (June 28, 2021) – A 33-year-old man was injured in a bicycle accident involving a Metropolitan Transit System bus in downtown San Diego’s East Village neighborhood on Sunday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 7:40 p.m. June 27, at the intersection of Broadway and Park Boulevard.
The officers who responded to the incident established the bicyclist had been riding southbound on a sidewalk on Park Boulevard when he entered a crosswalk and was hit by a bus making a right turn onto Broadway from southbound Park Boulevard.

The bicyclist sustained major injuries including an open fracture to one of his ankles and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The 49-year-old man who was driving the MTS bus was unhurt.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
