Motorcyclist Killed in Head-On Collision on John Street at Highway 101 in Salinas

Monterey County, California (July 7, 2021) – A 28-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision in Salinas on Wednesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision occurred at about 2:18 a.m. on the John Street overcrossing at Highway 101.
A motorcycle was traveling eastbound on John Street when it drifted across the double yellow line and collided head-on with an SUV.

The officers responded to the incident and found the rider down on the roadway. The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The SUV driver sustained minor injuries in the accident and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
