1 Injured in Novato Car Crash on Highway 37 near Petaluma River Bridge
Novato, California (May 20, 2021) – A major injury two-vehicle collision was reported in Novato on Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened on eastbound Highway 37 near the Petaluma River Bridge at about 1:42 p.m. May 19.
A silver Honda Civic and a sedan of unknown make and model were involved in the crash. Although the circumstances of the crash were yet to be established, the impact of the crash reportedly sent the Honda Civic about 30 feet off the roadway and down an embankment.
The CHP said one person was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
A dog in one of the cars was hurt in the crash and was surrendered to the animal control unit.
Both vehicles had major damages and were towed away from the scene.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
