Leroy Plum Killed, 3 People Injured in Morongo Basin Car Crash on Reche Road
Landers, California (May 22, 2021) – One person was killed in a car crash that left three other people injured in Landers early Friday morning, May 21.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision happened at about 3 a.m. on Reche Road.
Leroy Plum, 56, of Yucca Valley, was standing next to his disabled 2004 Dodge truck when the vehicle was struck by a 2021 Nissan Kicks driven by Darren Coleman, 61, of Twentynine Palms.
Plum was pinned between the two vehicles and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office.

Colleen Coleman, 54, of Twentynine Palms and a 13-year-old passenger were seriously injured in the crash and were transported to Desert Regional Medical Center.
Darren Coleman was also taken to Desert Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
No other information about the crash was provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
