Penny Stanford and Larry Stanford Killed in Highway 145 Motorcycle Accident near Island Drive in Madera
Madera, California (July 9, 2021) – The Madera County Coroner’s Bureau has disclosed the identities of the man and a woman who were killed in a motorcycle accident in Madera on Wednesday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 11:12 p.m., July 7, on Highway 145 near Island Drive.
The police established that 67-year-old Larry Dale Stanford and his wife Penny Louise Stanford, 63, were riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound on Highway 145 when an eastbound Hyundai made a left turn in front of them.

The two vehicles collided, ejecting the couple from Chowchilla.
Larry was flown to Community Regional Medical Center where he died while undergoing treatment.
Penny was transported to Madera Community Hospital where she also succumbed to her injuries, the CHP said.
The driver of the Hyundai was unhurt.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
