Sebastopol, California (June 3, 2021) – Lance Janssen, 54, of Santa Rosa, has been identified by the authorities as the motorcyclist who was killed in a collision last month in Sebastopol.

According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the fatal motorcycle accident happened on Occidental Road near State Route 116 at about 8:21 a.m. on May 21.

Janssen was reportedly riding a Yamaha motorcycle east on Occidental when, for unknown reasons, he collided head-on with a Chevrolet SUV.

An eastbound Mercedes SUV was also involved in the crash.

The paramedics who responded to the incident found the rider unresponsive. Janssen was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner’s Bureau.

The driver of the Chevrolet and her two juvenile passengers were unhurt.

The Mercedes driver and a passenger were also unhurt.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
